Job Description
PARSONS are seeking a highly skilled Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join team! As part of our design management team, you will collaborate on multi-disciplinary design projects, providing support in coordination, review, and delivery. You will actively contribute to decision-making processes, determining methods and solutions to address complex engineering challenges, while ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective approaches to meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze hydraulic models for sewerage and pressure main networks, offering optimization suggestions for some of the most exciting and large-scale engineering projects in Dubai.
- Review engineering design models using software like Civil3D or similar platforms.
- Receive advanced training in modern technological applications to enhance your skills.
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to develop coordinated multi-disciplinary designs.
- Prepare presentations and reports to communicate proposals and solutions to clients, authorities, and management.
- Provide engineering support for additional tasks as needed.
- Contribute to BIMCAD Designer tasks.
- Offer technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Engineers, and others involved in the project.
- Familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and government projects.
- Understand Water, Irrigation, and Firefighting Authority regulations (e.g., DEWA, ADDC/ADWEA, TRANSCO, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD) across the Gulf region.
- Knowledge of hydraulic design requirements for pump stations.
- Develop utility cross-sections and rainbow diagrams as required by local authorities, including RTA (Dubai), DMT (Abu Dhabi), MOMRA (KSA), and others.
- Assist with preparing detailed technical, commercial, and Life Cycle Cost Analyses of technical alternatives under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist with preparing reports and presentations for clients.
- Ensure compliance with British and American codes, along with DEWA/DM regulations for potable water and irrigation designs.
- Experience liaising with DEWA/DM for NOCs and design approvals.
- Lead and manage QA/QC activities across the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Hydraulics, Water, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in wet utilities (potable water, wastewater, sewerage networks), preferably within GCC countries.
- A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proficient in the application of BIM and capable of working within a CDE (Common Data Environment).
- Engineering expertise in sewerage and potable water network design.
- Familiarity with CAD (Civil 3D), Bentley WaterCAD, WaterGems, OpenUtilities, or similar software used in wet services engineering.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
